About the Performance

Prayer is an interdisciplinary performance by Meteoro, an artistic project founded by Moe Nagashima and Risa Tero.

Bringing together dance and live music, the performance unfolds in three acts that explore love, memory, hope, and human connection through diverse musical traditions.

Act I — Guinevere and Lancelot

An original dance work inspired by the Arthurian legend of Guinevere and Lancelot.

Choreographed by Risa Tero, the piece explores themes of love, loyalty, sacrifice, and forgiveness through music by Henry Purcell, George Frideric Handel, and Johann Sebastian Bach.

Act II — Blue Moon

A jazz-inspired program centered on the timeless classic Blue Moon, creating a vibrant dialogue between live music and dance.

Act III — Akatombo (Red Dragonfly)

A new interpretation of the beloved Japanese song Akatombo (Red Dragonfly), expressing themes of memory, home, and hope through the poetic interplay of music and movement.

Together, these three acts reflect on prayer as a universal expression of hope, compassion, and solidarity that transcends language and culture.

For Meteoro, this production marks the beginning of an ongoing artistic journey between Germany and Japan, fostering intercultural dialogue through collaborative creation and performance.
